Safety tips for a beach party

» Tips and Info

There are two hazards that you should be aware of when planning a beach party. The sea is ruthless and dangerous. Its dangers are not visible. It can change from calm and welcoming to powerful and dangerous within minutes.

Unfortunately a lot of debris is hidden in the soft and playful sands of our beaches, either through washing up out of the sea or by disrespectful people tossing trash on the sand.

Safety tips

  1. Scout the beach before the guests arrive for broken glass or other debris that could hurt or cut ones feet.
  2. If your party is at a swimming beach, make sure there is a lifeguard on duty.
  3. At a swimming beach, adults should take turns watching the children near the water.
  4. Ensure that all the guests use the trash bags.
  5. Sunscreen should be applied regularly, especially to children.
  6. Beach games should be played at a distance from guests that are not participating in the games.
  7. After the party scout the beach for trash.
